Camp signup shouldn't be your second full-time job.
See every uncovered week, day and hour of summer before registration opens. Add camps, before- and after-care, grandparents and PTO, and CampSorted shows you the gaps, flags camps your kid is too young for, and adds up the real cost.
The sample is a fictional 11-week summer: no sign-up, nothing saved. Founding member: $19/yr, locked
- No sign-up to try
- Works with any camp, anywhere
- Your data stays on your device
- 8am–6pm gap check
Sample: Maya (10) and Leo (5), mid-July to mid-August
Red = no care while you're at work. The 9–3 “half-day” camp leaves afternoons open, Maya is too old for the nature camp, and one week has nothing at all.

This is what parents keep telling each other every January.
Your workday doesn't. A 9–3 camp leaves 4 hours a day uncovered, and the after-care add-on is a separate signup with a separate fee.
One to compare camps, one for who's where each week, one for deposits and due dates. Change one week and the whole thing breaks.
The affordable camps fill fast. Miss the window and the backup often costs a lot more, so you're setting alarms in the middle of meetings.
You're on four waitlists with a deposit down on a backup. When a spot opens in May, does it actually fix your summer, and when do you have to cancel the backup?
Camps check age on the first day of camp, or the grade your kid enters in the fall. The 4-year-old is the hardest to place.
At tax time you need each provider's name, tax ID and dates of care, and overnight camp doesn't count.

Don't leave dependent care FSA money on the table
For tax year 2026 the IRS raised the maximum dependent care assistance exclusion (for example, a dependent care FSA through your employer) from $5,000 to $7,500, or $3,750 if you're married and filing separately. Your employer's plan can set a lower limit, so check your benefits portal.
Under IRS rules, a summer day camp may count as care even if it focuses on one activity like soccer or computers. Overnight camp doesn't count, and summer school and tutoring aren't care. You also need each provider's name, address and tax ID. CampSorted tallies the likely-eligible costs against your limit and tracks which receipts and tax IDs you still need.

Plan your 2027 summer budget & Dependent Care FSA election
Most employers ask you to choose next year’s dependent care FSA amount this fall, months before camp registration opens. Move a few sliders (kids, summer weeks, weekly camp cost, sitter weeks, before/after-school care, your tax rate) to get an estimated care budget, a suggested election capped at the household limit, and an estimate of the tax savings.
Estimate my FSA election, free →- Household limit: $7,500 for 2026 ($3,750 married filing separately). For 2027, check your plan; employers can set a lower limit.
- Use it or lose it: only elect what you’re confident you’ll spend on eligible care.
- Savings are an estimate based on the tax rate you enter, not a promise. Not tax advice.

FAQ
Do I need an account?
No. CampSorted runs in your browser and saves your plan on your device. Export a JSON backup any time, or import it on another device.
Does it find camps for me?
No, and that's on purpose: camp directories only cover a few cities and go out of date. You add the camps you're considering from anywhere (city parks, YMCA, school, church, private camps), so it works in any town.
How does the gap check work?
For every work day between the last day of school and the first day back, it compares your work hours with each camp's daily hours plus before/after care, and shows exactly which hours are uncovered. Waitlisted spots and camps your child isn't old enough for don't count as coverage.
How are age limits checked?
Using your child's age on the first day of that camp, or the grade they'll enter in the fall. If you only enter a birthdate, the grade is estimated assuming a September 1 kindergarten cutoff. Cutoffs vary by state and district, so you can enter the grade directly.
Can I share the plan with my partner or co-parent?
Yes, with Pro. A share link contains the plan itself (it's never uploaded), and opens as a read-only view.
Does it work for winter break, spring break and PD days?
Yes. Pro lets you add other school breaks, and each one gets its own coverage calendar.
Is this tax advice?
No. The FSA tally follows IRS Publication 503 (for example, day camp may qualify and overnight camp doesn't), but your plan administrator decides what it reimburses. Canadian families should check the CRA's child care expense rules.
